How to Take Body Measurements for a Perfect Fit
All you need is a tape measure! While it’s easiest to have someone assist, you can measure yourself in front of a mirror to ensure accuracy. Ideally, wear close-fitting clothing or just undergarments. Avoid bulky clothing like jeans or sweatpants, as these add extra inches.
If you don’t have a tape measure, you can buy one from Shopee here!
The tape should be snug but not tight—aim to fit a finger behind the tape without it digging into your skin. Here’s a step-by-step guide to each measurement:
How to Measure for Accurate Body Measurements
- A: Shoulder – Stand straight, shoulders relaxed. Place the tape from one shoulder tip to the other along the bottom of the collar.
- B: Bust – Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, just under the armpits, and above or at the nipple line.
- C: Waist – Measure around your natural waistline, which is near the navel. Ensure the tape is parallel to the floor.
- D: Hip – Stand with feet together and wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips.
- E: Thigh – Stand with feet a step apart. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your thigh.
- F: Armhole – Wrap the tape around your armpit, starting at the top of the shoulder.
- G: Sleeve Length – Measure from the shoulder seam down to your wrist or desired cuff length.
- H: Length – Begin at the shoulder seam and measure straight down to the floor.
